Baird 3 opened as an Adult Medicine – Telemetry unit in June 2019. The team that makes up Baird 3 was originally cultivated utilizing experienced UVMMC staff and newly hired staff from all over the world. Over the years, Baird 3 has created a positive and enthusiastic environment that uplifts and supports one another. Baird 3 is a fast paced and stimulating unit. The immense variety of patients and diagnosis’ enables staff to grow professionally and personally. Baird 3 provides a foundation for one to flourish, evolve and advance their skills.

How you make a difference The Regional Nurse Educator is responsible for developing, reviewing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for nursing staff, with a focus on ensuring competence and proficiency in caring for adults with serious and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, and chronic medical problems. This includes designing and delivering training sessions, evaluating training effectiveness, and providing ongoing support and education to nursing staff to meet the unique needs of the patient population served. The Regional Nurse Educator also collaborates with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders to ensure that nursing staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver high-quality care in a compassionate and patient-centered manner. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and coordinate comprehensive educational programs for nursing staff, including orientation, ongoing curriculum needs, recertification, and continuing education programs to enhance and maintain knowledge and competencies.
