Job Summary and Qualifications

The Coordinator ED Flow/Throughput ensures high quality, patient-centered care by facilitating the throughput of patients within the Emergency Department to provide optimum efficiency of department resources and timely management of patient care. The Coordinator evaluates staffing matrix and patient volume patterns to identify optimal staffing schedules. The Coordinator supports patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities that promote the vision, mission, and values of the organization.

Experience:

Vocational degree in Nursing or EMT/Paramedic Training Program, required

Bachelors Degree in Nursing, preferred

2+ years applicable experience, required

Basic Life Support (BLS), required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required

Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required. Associate Degree (ADN) prepared nurses with 5 years of clinical nursing experience and experience with diabetes education or counseling (glucose meter) required. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal, written and communication skills required. Must possess sound decision-making, time management and negotiating skills. Excellent computer skills are required. Demonstrated ability and interest in the care of individuals with chronic disease.
