Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her Med/Surg Telemetry assigned patients. He/She communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.2. BCLS upon hire and maintain current.3. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.4. ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintained current.

We perform 80-100 elective procedures per week, including total hip and knee replacements, spinal fusions, discectomies, shoulder replacements, and more. We also care for trauma patients in their med/surg recovery phase, treating injuries from motor vehicle accidents, falls, gunshot wounds, and other emergencies. We hold Advanced Certification in Total Hip and Knee Joint Replacement through The Joint Commission and are actively pursuing Advanced Certification for Spine Surgery. Supportive Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights, with dedicated techs for patient support and charge nurses who are not in staffing. Our nurses work directly with 40+ orthopedic surgeons and their residents, playing an integral role in shaping patient care plans and policies.SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Nurse Director/charge nurse patients and families are provided competent holistic care based on nursing process.
