Job description

 

  • Assists with active and passive therapeutic exercises under direct supervision of Director of Nursing Services (DNS) or designated Nurse Manager.

  • Instructs, motivates, and assists residents to learn and improve functional activities, such as eating, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities, and completes documentations.

  • Observes residents during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on residents’ responses to treatments and progress and reports orally or in writing to Nurse Manager.

  • Confers with members of restorative staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate resident information and participation for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.

  • Records resident information on the restorative flow sheet, according to policy.

  • Assists with resident meal service as assigned.

  • Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom and provide resident care and services needed.

  • Transports resident to and from restorative program.

  • Meets with the Nurse Manager a minimum of monthly to review each resident’s performance in their restorative program.

     

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Previous long-term care experience.

  • Completed on-the-job training by a qualified therapist (physical or occupational).

  • Ability and willingness to work well with residents and staff

     

Education, Licensure, And Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Washington State

  • In addition to meeting the basic Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for a Certified Nursing Assistant prefer course completion designed specifically to train Restorative Aides.

  • Must complete 12 hours of continuing education per year or as required by state law; provided by Center
