Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

  • You will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing the admission process.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating care and collaborating with other departments to ensure positive patient outcomes and that all of the needs of the patients and significant others are met.
  • You will be responsible for the administration of medications, knowledge of actions, indications, adverse reactions, dosage, and route. Also, must reassess patients for effectiveness of medication and document appropriately.
  • You will coordinate discharge planning/case management services from the Direct Admit Unit.
  • You will maintain clear and respectful communication with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers. Practice excellent customer service at all times.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date).
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
  • 1-year of clinical Med Surg experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required - [Post-Op, Post-Surgical, General Surgery]
