MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a Surgical Technology Program AND surgical technologist certification required.
3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

1. One (1) year of prior scrub experience.

1. Utilizes quality aseptic technique when working in an unsterile or sterile role in the OR.
2. Assists the circulating RN in monitoring technique of all persons in the OR to maintain a sterile field.
3. Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts with the circulating RN following established guidelines.
4. Assists with gowning and gloving surgeons and positioning equipment and instruments.
5. Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during a surgical procedure.
6. Operates specialty equipment after receiving specific training.
7. Assists with transportation and positioning of the patients.
8. Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedure following preference cards. Performs equipment checks as assigned.
9. Assists with sterilization and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment.
10. Monitors inventory; orders; and restocks supplies, instruments, and equipment.
11. Removes out-of-date items and discards or reprocesses following established guidelines.
12. Assists with the general cleaning duties of the department.
13. Assists with clerical work, and record keeping duties including the gathering of indicator data such as frequency of events.
14. Prepares and updates preference cards and instrument tray lists as directed.
15. Assists with the proper recording of patient charges.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements For Surgical Technologist II Satisfactory completion of a vocational or military course in surgical technology, or certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA and NCCT). Two years' experience as a Surgical Technologist Desirable Qualifications Preferred candidates will have direct patient care experience in an operating room. Experience working in a healthcare environment. Ability to scrub surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist I classification salary range is dependent upon this 90% percentage starting at $43,785.36 to 59,739.77, and for the Surgical Technologist II classification range is dependent upon percentage started at $47,863.22 to $65,227.03 You must indicate in your cover letter the level of classification (Surgical Technologist I or Surgical Technologist II) you wish to be considered for or indicate both.
