NICU Department Highlights
- Work environment: The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a part-time opportunity for an experienced NICU RN.
- 16 bed NICU unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
- Level III NICU
- Maternal Designation III
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
- NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Req
- NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Req
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
- 1 year of RN experience in NICU strongly preferred
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
