Nurse Practitioner Cardiology

PeaceHealth has an opening for a Nurse Practitioner Cardiology to support our Bellingham, Washington location.

PeaceHealth has been serving the communities of northwest Washington since 1890 with PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, now a 253-bed, two-campus hospital providing a Level II Trauma Center and a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. PeaceHealth's Whatcom Region also includes the comprehensive heart care services of the Cardiovascular Center at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center as well as the primary and specialty care provided by PeaceHealth Medical Group.

Compensation

0-3 YOE: $68.08/hr., $141,606.40 annually; 3-5 YOE: $71.36/hr., $148,428.80 annually; 5-10 YOE: $75.11/hr., $156,228.80 annually; 10+ YOE: $85.47/hr., $177,777.60 annually

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with chronic and acute cardiac conditions (e.g., heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease).
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to manage patient care across clinic and hospital settings.
  • Order, interpret, and monitor appropriate tests and procedures; adjust therapies based on clinical judgment.
  • Provide patient and family education on disease management, preventive care, lifestyle modification, and medications.
  • Document patient encounters in the electronic health record (e.g., EPIC) accurately and timely.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, practice development, and clinical guideline adherence.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, organizational, and professional standards.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (NP) from an accredited program.
  • Current Washington State APRN (Nurse Practitioner) license.
  • National certification in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care/Primary Care or Family Nurse Practitioner.

Experience

  • Cardiology experience preferred, but motivated new graduates with relevant clinical training are encouraged to apply.

Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
