Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas’ campus includes Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center. We’re home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program), our Baby Friendly birthing pavilion and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.

This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period) position with a 12-hour NIGHT shift schedule on variable days of the week that includes weekends and holidays.

Position will rotate work caring for L&D, Antepartum, Postpartum, and newborn patients.

This position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Position is eligible for a retention bonus and relocation based on eligibility.

  • Our registered nurses provide direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice.
  • Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
  • The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Preferred Experience/Specialized Skills/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Required Experience/Specialized Skills

  • At least 1-year recent experience within a Post-Partum AND Labor and Delivery department in an Acute Care hospital environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Required Certification/Registration

  • Current CA RN License
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Current NRP Certification (AAP Issued 7th or 8th edition)
  • Current Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification (AWHONN OR NCC).

Required Education/Course(s)/Training

  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
