Location: 280 E. Losey St., Galesburg, IL 61401
Pay: Up to $39/hour


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to residents and oversees the day-to-day nursing activities of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The RN ensures care is delivered in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and supports the Director of Nursing in maintaining the highest level of quality care.


Shifts Available

Full-Time & Part-Time Positions

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m

    • $0.75/hr shift differential
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.

    $1.00/hr shift differential


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with established standards

  • Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs in the delivery of resident care

  • Coordinate and oversee shift services, programs, and resident care activities

  • Provide leadership and clinical guidance to nursing staff

  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required

  • Complete and maintain accurate medical records and nursing documentation

  • Assess resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians and care teams

  • Receive, transcribe, and implement physician orders

  • Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments as ordered

  • Complete incident and accident reports per facility policy

  • Perform skilled nursing procedures, including but not limited to:

    • Wound assessments and dressing changes

    • Catheter and ostomy care

    • Tube feedings

    • Suctioning

    • Range of motion exercises

    • End-of-life care

  • Conduct rounds with physicians and interdisciplinary team members as needed

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety regulations, and proper equipment use

  • Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA

  • Foster a calm, respectful, and supportive environment for residents, families, and staff

  • Participate in shift reports and interdisciplinary communication

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (Illinois)

  • CPR Certification required

  • Long-term care experience preferred

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

  • Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and standards of care

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Ability to make independent clinical decisions


Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry at least 25 pounds up to 5 feet and move that weight up to 50 feet

  • Ability to manage the emotional and mental demands of the position

  • Ability to work independently with flexibility and professionalism

  • Strong interpersonal skills with residents, families, staff, and support agencies
