Position Summary

The RN/LPN participates in the delivery of patient care in accordance with facility clinical systems, regulatory requirements, and physician orders. This role includes overseeing CNAs to ensure the highest quality of care is provided in a supportive, resident-focused setting.


Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Illinois RN or LPN license

  • CPR certification preferred (not required)

  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills

  • Skilled nursing facility experience preferred


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide and oversee care to ensure resident health, safety, and well-being

  • Direct, support, and mentor CNAs on your team

  • Assess resident needs and develop individualized care plans

  • Identify and communicate changes in resident condition to physicians, NPs, staff, and families

  • Administer medications, treatments, and direct care as ordered

  • Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges

  • Ensure smooth shift transitions through effective communication

  • Document care accurately in PointClickCare (EHR)

The Nurse in Training role is an opportunity for nurses to apply and grow their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the mentor's direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors. Description Working alongside an assigned mentor, the Nurse in Training will review and learn the following skills. Upon completion of the six-week program, exhibit the ability to work within the Urgent Care multidisciplinary team.
