Job Posting Summary

Baptist Health is looking to add a highly motivated and skilled Medical Lab Scientist II to join our team working in the Laboratory Department at our brand new Baptist Medical Center Nassau Crossings ED. This is a PRN, various shift opportunity covering Evenings, Nights and Weekends.

 

This candidate must hold a valid Medical Technician OR Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida before hire and have at least two years of working experience in the lab. This Medical Technologist will work in a team setting and have the opportunity to work with an automated line. 

 

As a Medical Lab Scientist II, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining expertise and performing technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
  • Maintaining records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals
  • Supervision by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision. 
  • Supervising MLTs as General Supervisor and serving as Charge Technologist in the abscense of other lab supervisors or MTs. 
  • May instruct new employees and students. 

License note: Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure Rules.

Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
