Registered Nurse (RN) Maternal Newborn – Full time

- Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104
- The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET, and Texas 10-Step facility, has been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and Maternal Level IV designated facility
- Work hours: Full Time Nights (6:45PM-7:15AM) for 36 hours/week, with Weekend and holiday requirements
- Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth
- Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
- 27-bed Maternal/Newborn unit
- Average between 275 to 300 deliveries per month
- Utilize the following skills: Breastfeeding education/resources, responsible for both mom and baby (Couplet Care)
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
- BSN is preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- One-year experience as a Registered nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program required.
- One year or more of Mother/Baby, Couplet Care RN experience strongly preferred
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
- Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
