SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager assesses plans, organizes, and evaluates the delivery of patient care and services related to medical, surgical, pediatric, adult and ambulatory surgery patient populations. Provide fiscal management and administrative leadership to of all nursing personnel with a focus on team work and professionalism. Ensures that quality care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and standards of the hospital and nursing department. Responsible for driving quality changes and evidence based practice across multiple clinical areas. Provide leadership for all Service Excellence and Customer Service efforts and initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a resource to members of the nursing staff in evidenced based clinical practice and documentation.
- Serve as a professional role model and public relations representative to patients, their families and significant others.
- Provides leadership, supervision, guidance and development for staff, articulating and demonstrating an expectation for continuous quality improvement, as well as continually supporting and exhibiting company values and service standards. Identifies and provides growth opportunities for staff.
- Responsible for assisting in the development, management and allocation of fiscal resources and annual budgets.
- Assist in the annual evaluation and professional development of nursing and clinical staff.
- Work with managers and staff to ensure the smooth operations of units on a daily basis with an emphasis on timely conflict resolution.
- Acts as a hospital liaison to all external referral agencies and organizations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited program in nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Will consider if matriculated into a BSN program, must complete within 2 years of start date. MSN preferred.
- Current NYS licensure as RN.
- American Heart Association BLS Provider certification.
- American Heart Association ACLS Provider certification.
- National certification in Med/surg or ICU or Nursing Administration within 1 year of hire.
- 3 years of recent progressive experience in leading a nursing team. Experience in developing and executing ongoing life-long educational programs for clinical frontline staff. Experience in budgeting and financial planning a plus. Recent Nurse Manager or Management Experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- National certification, AHA PALS Provider certification.
- Medical Surgical and ICU experience.
- Knowledge of clinical best practice and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to build effective partnering relationships with all levels of hospital, medical and allied health professional staffs. - Ability to work collaboratively with multidiscipline and medical staff.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Ability to problem solve in a proactive manner using sound judgment based on facts and clinical knowledge.
- Demonstrates leadership skills, flexibility, respect and ability to make decisions.

PAY RANGE:
$95,000.00 - $130,000.00CITY:

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
