SUMMARY: The Nurse Supervisor is a nursing leader who serves as a resource in coordinating and overseeing patient care delivery. The Nurse Supervisor provides leadership, direction, facilitates patient flow, assures appropriate staffing, and consults with nursing, medical and administration as necessary. Maintains standards of professional nursing practice and supports both RRH and nursing philosophies and objectives, as well as initiatives. The night shift, weekend, and holiday supervisors are also the leading management person in the institution itself.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Clinical Leadership & Patient Care Oversight: Manage hospital operations during off shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care, resolving clinical issues, supporting staff in real-time decision-making, and responding to emergencies.

  • Staff Support & Collaboration: Mentor and coach clinical staff, facilitate interdepartmental collaboration, support patient flow, and contribute to performance evaluations and regulatory compliance.

  • Patient Advocacy & Safety: Round on patients, address concerns, ensure a safe and respectful care environment, promote informed decision-making, reinforce policies, and maintain staffing and infection control standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

  • 3 years’ experience in an acute care faciality or related specialty area

  • Current NYS RN Licensure

  • BLS certification

  • ACLS within 3 months of hire

  • PALS within 3 months of hire

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word required; and EPIC strongly preferred)

  • Experience as a Nursing Supervisor, Director/Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse
