Position Description:

 

The Registered Nurse in the Wellness for Life Department will play a crucial role in the provision of clinical tasks at sites within the community. Under supervision of the Director of Employer and Consumer Health, this position involves working the Mobile Care Clinic events within the health system’s market and remaining with the clinic throughout the duration providing clinical services, offering educational support on specific disease processes, and coordinating necessary follow-up appointments. The nurse will work collaboratively with the Wellness for Life team, demonstrating leadership and participating in community nursing education and wellness initiatives.

Qualifications:

1. Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.

2. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred, preferably in wellness or community health.

3. Strong knowledge of lab result interpretation and disease processes preferred.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to adapt to changing demands and work collaboratively within a team.

6. Demonstrated leadership skills in patient education and community outreach.

7. This position requires the ability to operate a vehicle as a job-related function; candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record acceptable under company and insurance guidelines.

Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team. Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
