Professional Staff Nurse, Casual- 3C Addiction Medicine

This casual nurse role will work to support our most specialized patients recovering from drugs and alcohol. McKeesport is home to one of the only inpatient detox facilities in the region. We welcome you to share your nursing expertise and join this incredible team!

Casual nurses on this unit are required to work a minimum of 3, 12-hour shifts in a 6-week period as well as 1 holiday per year. Shift start times rotate between 7am and 7pm and pay rate/nurse title will be determined by years of nursing experience. The highest level of the casual nurse pay range is our Senior Professional Staff Nurse II (requires at least 3 years of nursing experience) and has a set pay rate of $43.77 per hour! Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

NIH Certification will be required within 6 months of hire for applicable units. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. Must complete licensure examination within SIX MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first. Though temporary permits are valid for one year from the date of graduation, not one year from issue of permit (or until the results of the examination are known at which time it becomes null and void), UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 6 months of their start date or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU.
