Indiana University Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals.
If you are a team player and eager to learn and grow your more critical nursing skills, this SDS unit has availability for nurses. We recover patients from a variety of procedure and surgical areas post-anesthesia. We are open Monday – Friday some on-call on the weekends and weeknights that is rotating with all staff.
This position is referral eligible and qualifies for a location differential.
4x10s shift.
PACU, Surgery, or PeriOp experience preferred.
Patient Population/Diagnoses:
- Day Surgery-Preoperative
Number of Beds
- Day Surgery/ Pre Op- 23 rooms
Nursing skills gained:
- Day Surgery- IV starts, Patient Teaching/Education, Surgical knowledge base, ACLS, PALS
Unit Successes/Designations/National recognition:
- Magnet
- ERAS
- ERCP procedures
- Decreased surgical site infections by using Nose to Toes Kits (CHG wipes, oral & nasal swabs)

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities
- Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
