Registered Nurse ARRMC (NICU)
Additional Position Details: Union position | FTE: 0.9 | Full Time | 3rd Shift - Nights Variable
Shift Differentials:
- $2.50 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- $10.00 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
- $2.50 extra for working weekends

Position Summary
A Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver responsible and accountable for their practice for assigned patient(s). Utilizing the nursing process, the RN delivers superb health care in a compassionate manner, is committed to excellence and empowered to streamline and improve operations.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has the capacity for 32 patients. The Asante NICU is the regional Level III NICU specifically designed to provide comprehensive neonatal care using high technology equipment uniquely designed for premature and/or high acuity infants. The NICU treats premature neonates as early as 22-weeks gestation. The NICU is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department has bed space to provide care for up to 32 neonates. The NICU has six twin rooms and one triplet room.
Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center nurse-to-neonate ratios are 2:1 to 1:3, depending on acuity. The NICU has a dedicated transport team that services Southern Oregon and the surrounding areas. The average daily census is 20.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred
One of the following areas of experience is required:
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in a level III NICU,- OR -
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Women's & Children's Service Line - OR -
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Critical Care Service Line, Emergency Department, or Family Birth Center
Preferred Experience
- Level III NICU experience
- Infant transport experience
- Charge experience
License/Certification
- RN: Registered Nurse licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing is required upon start
- BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start
- NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, jointly sponsored with the AHA, must be obtained within 4 months of hire
- RNC-NIC: Registered Nurse Certified - Neonatal Intensive Care is preferred
- CCRN-N: Critical Care Registered Nurse - Neonatal is preferred

For New Graduate RN's ONLY (as defined by job requisition): If any additional certifications are required for the unit, as listed on the position qualifications, you have 4 months from your hire date to acquire them. (BLS and RN are still required at date of hire for all RN's).
