Responsibilities

•Maintains accurate records of medication and treatments given. Be alert and active in supporting facility’s commitment to safe practices, infection control, and respect for residents’ rights.•Set up and pass oral medications as prescribed.•Make proper chart entries regarding residents’ medications.•Take and record residents’ temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rate.•Stock and prepare medication cart for rounds and always observe safe and secure practices.•Observe and notify nurse of any negative drug effects or interactions and assist in resident care emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid state CNA or home care aid certification.

• 1-2 years working in a memory care facility preferable.

• Valid CPR/First aid card.

• Covid vaccinated

The Care Giver/Med Tech role includes providing hands on care, physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home like environment. Responsibilities: Care Giver: Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift. Observes, reports and documents symptoms and conditions of residents for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary and participation in activities. Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly. Notifies supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator if a resident has increased care needs. Assists with continence management and disposes of all continence products properly to ensure sanitation of resident suite and community restrooms. Serves and collects food trays and assists as needed; reports refusal of meals or loss of appetite. Maintains cleanliness of resident’s room and work areas. Job Description Responsible for the safe administration of medications ensuring the 6 rights of medication administration are followed. Count and document all narcotics that are administered to residents. Responsible for the total inventory of medications at the community; including but not limited to ordering medications, receiving and verifying medications, storing and dating medications, removing expired or discontinued medications, and notifying the proper parties when medication supply is low. Notice discrepancies regarding medication inventory and report to the appropriate parties. Responsible for daily cleaning of all medicine carts at end of shift and restocking as needed. Responsible for weekly deep cleaning of all med carts. Responsible for verifying all current MARs are compared to new MARs at change over time. Provide personal care to residents to residents as needed, including bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and eating. Provide general nursing care to include, but not limited to, vital signs, temperatures, blood pressure, and weights. Document appropriate information in the daily log as required. Qualifications At least 1 year of experience in a senior care setting. You must have a state-specific Medication Technician certificate. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
