Essential Functions: The Nurse Practitioner, Outpatient is responsible for providing medical care and treatment to patients. Performs physical examinations and preventative health measures within the prescribed guidelines and instructions of the physician. Plans a treatment strategy to meet identified needs, evaluates responses to nursing and medical interventions.

Required Qualifications Successful completion of an advanced practice Nurse Education Program Current Licensure through the Louisiana Board of Nurse Examiners or the ability to obtain licensure prior to employment Nurse Practitioner Certification as Adult, Geriatric, or Family NP CPR certification Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain prior to employment 2+ years of post-graduate experience working as a Nurse Practitioner Demonstrated clinical knowledge necessary to make recommendations concerning the clinical assessment, evaluation and management of members Computer literacy and experience with electronic medical records Preferred Qualifications Experience in Gerontology, Internal Medicine, and/or Family Medicine Experience in a managed care and/or ambulatory environment Urgent care experience Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $109,500 - $164,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
