Position Overview

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of the nursing department. This role requires a strong clinical and operational leader who ensures high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff engagement within a skilled nursing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Direct, lead, and supervise all nursing staff to ensure safe, compassionate, and resident-centered care
Manage daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and clinical oversight
Maintain continuous compliance with state and federal regulations, including survey readiness
Develop, implement, and oversee nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families to promote positive outcomes
Support staff education, training, and professional development to improve retention and performance
Review clinical and operational data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective action plans

Qualifications

Current Arizona RN license or Compact RN license required
Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, survey processes, and clinical best practices
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to foster accountability, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture
