ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
  2. Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
  3. Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
  4. Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines

Coordinates care through communication and collaboration with the patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Serves as a resource person for staff nurses and precepts NNP students. Education / Experience: BSN from an accredited school of nursing, NP from an accredited nurse practitioner program, Masters Degree required, BCLS required, NRP required, two years as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner preferred, Neonatal experience required Licensure, Certification and / or Registration: Current licensure to practice in the State of applicable state as a Registered Nurse, Approved for advanced practice as a nurse practitioner by the applicable state board of Nursing and applicable state Board of Medical Examiners, Specialty certification as NNP is required
