As a Hospice Registered Nurse You will:    

  • Assess/monitor physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients 
  • Create hospice care plans that align with the patients wishes and goals   
  • Direct nursing care: administering medications, treatments, and interventions 
  • Provide pain and symptom management  
  • Educate and support the patient’s family and caregivers 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team 
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation  
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required by local branch

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation 
  • One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred 
  • Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred 
  • Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care 
  • Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence 
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order

RN | Nursing Float Pool | PRN | Nights

Overview The Registered Nurse Float I provides individualized nursing care services within the standards of nursing practice: assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, evaluation, and patient health education. This Registered Nurse will float between the ICU, CVU and Med/Surg units. Responsibilities Perform accurate and complete assessments on patients within established time frames; requests consult as indicated. Establishes and updates a patient plan of care based on periodic assessments. Assists with providing for the physical comfort and safety of patients (i.e. bath and linen changes, administration of medication(s), dietary intake, and other necessary treatments). Ensures security of patient’s personal items and reports discrepancies to supervisor in a timely fashion. Attend rounds with physicians as indicated, assist with exams, discuss patient progress. Review and implement physician’s orders. Provide concise bedside report regarding patients' status to the on-coming shift. Demonstrates the proper procedure for obtaining, charging for, and returning supplies/equipment and maintains adequate supply levels through the use of accurate inventory control. Obtains and verifies consent forms. Supervises and gives assignments to the staff assigned to his/her patients. Recognizes and intervenes in life threatening emergencies, including the administration of emergency drugs, and defibrillator or other emergency treatment.
