Responsibilities

  • The LPN under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, provides direct, safe, appropriate, and effective nursing care to designated patients in accordance with patient needs, current standards of nursing practice, and organizational policies within the scope of LPN Licensure and hospital policy.
  • Performs general nursing tasks.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

  • Graduate from a practical nursing program
  • Valid NM RN License or valid multi-state compact license (within 90 days of hire)
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • CPR

Preferred Job Requirements: 

  • One (1) year of experience desired

Description Job Summary Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical surgical setting. Duties and Responsibilities · Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. · Follows the eight (8) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. · Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results. · Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population. · Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
