Pay for this position is $19.45/hour. This is an Hourly position.

STATEMENT OF POSTING: Applicants not currently certified as a CNA will be considered. Applicant would onboard as a PCSR I. Pay for the PCSR I is $19.10/hour.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: In accordance with established policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements, the Patient Care Support Rep II, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs basic nursing care, clerical duties, and patient care tasks as necessary to provide for the comfort and safety of patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or GED
License/Certification: CNA in the State of Michigan. Certification by the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Basic computer keyboard experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Six (6) months previous health care experience associated with direct patient contact activities.
Strong communication skills necessary to maintain open and honest communication and patient safety requirements.

Part-Time Days (7a-7p)-two 12 hour shifts a week requirement Unit Description GTSCU is a 29-bed Medical/Surgical unit. We have two primary focuses on GTSCU; one on the Geriatric Trauma patient age 60 years or older who has sustained a trauma and the other on the palliative care patient; our goal is to provide relief of suffering that may occur at many points during a disease process. Patients assigned to GTSCU are received primarily from the Emergency Center and ICU’s. GTSCU was developed as a result of Best Practice and Research that indicates that a shorter length of stay decreases morbidity and mortality in the elderly hospitalized patient that sustained a trauma. GTSCU also serves a quiet and peaceful environment for patients and families as we care for their loved one who may be at the end of life. The nursing staff on GTSCU are trained to care for patients at the end of life as well as those who will be discharged home or to other facilities. •CNAs are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse. The duties generally include observing patients, recording vital signs, performing EKGs, and reporting changes in patient conditions. Qualifications •Applicant has completed Nurse Aide course and presents Nurse Aide Certification.
