Job Title: X-Ray Technician/MA

Reports To: Center Manager

 

Summary:

The X-Ray Technician/MA will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Interviews patient and measures vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height; records information on patient's chart
  • Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations
  • Drapes patient with coverings, and positions instruments and equipment
  • Hands instruments and materials to doctor, as directed
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments
  • Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
  • Operates X-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests, or calls medical facility or department to schedule patient tests.
  • Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
  • Inputs data into computer to maintain office and patient records

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a current X-Ray Technician Limited Permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (expanded scope is ideal- to include digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal) is required
  • Must be Medical Assistant certified
  • Must have prior experience performing EKGs, blood drawing, vital signs and IM injections.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must have a neat and professional appearance
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills

 

 Working Conditions:

  • Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Travel – up to 5%
