About the Role

The RN or LPN Unit Manager plays a vital leadership role in ensuring high-quality, resident-centered nursing care. As a key member of the clinical leadership team, the Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations on the assigned unit, supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive work environment. This role requires strong clinical expertise, effective communication, and a commitment to excellence in long-term care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees and coordinates day-to-day nursing operations on the assigned unit to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate resident care.

• Supervises, mentors, and supports nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, promoting teamwork and accountability.

• Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.

• Participates in the interdisciplinary care planning process, ensuring nursing goals align with resident-centered care plans.

• Conducts regular rounds to assess resident condition, identify concerns, and ensure timely interventions.

• Monitors clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance, including MDS-related processes as applicable.

• Collaborates with physicians, families, and other departments to address resident needs and resolve concerns.

• Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes.

• Assists with staffing coordination, scheduling, and performance evaluations as needed.

• Responds to changes in resident condition, incidents, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.

• Performs additional duties as required to support resident care and overall facility goals.

Qualifications:

• Current RN or LPN license in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania.

• Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.

• Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, clinical standards, and best practices.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and diverse resident population.
