About the Role
The RN or LPN Unit Manager plays a vital leadership role in ensuring high-quality, resident-centered nursing care. As a key member of the clinical leadership team, the Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations on the assigned unit, supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive work environment. This role requires strong clinical expertise, effective communication, and a commitment to excellence in long-term care.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees and coordinates day-to-day nursing operations on the assigned unit to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate resident care.
Supervises, mentors, and supports nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, promoting teamwork and accountability.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
Participates in the interdisciplinary care planning process, ensuring nursing goals align with resident-centered care plans.
Conducts regular rounds to assess resident condition, identify concerns, and ensure timely interventions.
Monitors clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance, including MDS-related processes as applicable.
Collaborates with physicians, families, and other departments to address resident needs and resolve concerns.
Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes.
Assists with staffing coordination, scheduling, and performance evaluations as needed.
Responds to changes in resident condition, incidents, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
Performs additional duties as required to support resident care and overall facility goals.
Qualifications:
Current RN or LPN license in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania.
Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of long-term care regulations, clinical standards, and best practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and diverse resident population.
