Registered Nurse School Setting - Quincy, MA

A healthcare professional is needed to provide one-on-one nursing support for a medically fragile student requiring transport and care throughout the school day. This role supports a K-12 special education student traveling by van from their home to an educational placement outside the district.

Location: Based in Billerica, MA, with transportation responsibilities to Lexington, MA.

Position Details:

  • Contract role lasting through the current school year (CSY), starting ASAP through June 2026
  • Shift runs Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00-7:30 AM start and concluding around 2:00 PM
  • Primary duties include assisting the student in preparing for van transport both morning and afternoon trips
  • Support on an out-of-district campus with a nurse on site, plus opportunities to float within the district nursing staff

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Experience in school nursing or special education settings is highly desirable
  • Ability to provide skilled nursing care for medically fragile students
  • Reliable transportation skills and flexibility in daily scheduling

Responsibilities:

  • Administer nursing care tailored to the students medical needs during transportation and at school
  • Coordinate closely with the students care team to ensure safety and comfort throughout the day
  • Cover nursing duties throughout the school district as needed
