CMA School Contract

A dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed to provide one-to-one nursing support for a medically fragile student in a special education setting. This contract position is based in Billerica, MA, supporting the students transportation and school day needs from their home in Billerica to their educational placement in Lexington, MA. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced nurse who thrives in a K-12 school environment and values making a meaningful impact on a childs education and health.

Location: Billerica, MA (student transportation to Lexington, MA)
Duration: Current School Year (CSY) contract, starting ASAP through June 2026
Schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 7:007:30 AM start, with dismissal around 2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the student before boarding and after exiting the van to ensure safety and comfort during transportation
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with individualized health plans while accompanying the student on the special education van
  • Collaborate with school nursing staff at the out-of-district campus to ensure continuity of care
  • Float to available nursing roles within the Billerica district when not providing transportation support
  • Maintain accurate health documentation and communicate effectively with education and healthcare teams

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN or LPN license
  • Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred
  • Comfort working in a transportation setting with a medically fragile student
  • Ability to adhere to scheduled transportation and school hours
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
