Includes stocking of the lab, clinic and infusion room areas and proper disposal of waste; as well as, utilizing Standard Precautions to minimize the potential for exposure to infectious processes and disposes of all needles and syringes and or other items used in specimen collection to minimize exposure potential to self and others.
Consistently follows hospital policy regarding verification of patient identification prior to obtaining specimen and ensures specimens are appropriately labeled with patient identifiers, date and time of collection and initials.
Ensures lab charges and patient charges are completed and accurate on a daily basis either in the computer or on paper as indicated in the designated areas.
