DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Administrator, the Clinical Director of Nursing has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the center and their effect on patient care.  The Clinical Director of Nursing has authority to make decisions in the center in the areas of patient care, human resource and clinical financial management. The Clinical Director of Nursing has overall responsibility for clinical operations within the center. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):  

  • Responsible for coordinating staffing schedule for assigned area based on census, coordinates lunches and breaks, assists staff members with problem-solving.  Assists to resolve staff, physician and patient complaints.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate the center’s mission, vision and values, as well as center goals, to all staff.
  • Provides supervision, leadership, and guidance to other leaders and staff in goal setting, problem solving, resource management, outcome achievement, and promotion of team cohesion.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Required: 

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • RN with active TX license.
  • BLS/ACLS certification
  • Five (5) or more years Healthcare Management experience including:
  • Demonstrated management experience in Ambulatory Surgery Centers or hospital operating room environment.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with patients, physicians, management, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and effectively resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams.

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing
  • PALS certification

Perform services in accordance with the physician’s orders and the established plan of care (POC). Ensure delivery of care is compliant with the federal and state regulations. Qualifications Must be a graduate of an approved school of clinical education. Must be licensed in the state where they currently practice. Must have at least one year experience as a licensed professional. Must have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device. Education and experience, preferred Experience as a licensed professional may be deferred with a review and approval from the regional and executive service line clinical leadership. Medicare home health or hospice experience is preferred.
