Requirements
Education, Training or Certifications Required:
- Current Maine license as a registered professional nurse.
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
- Critical Care/Code Blue Course.4 TNCC, CCRN, NALS encouraged.
- Critical Care Course can be 1:1 with Division Director during orientation.
Experience Required:
- Recent training/experience in medication administration and nursing process in an acute care setting.
- Recent critical care experience and CC course preferred prior to application.
Special Requirements:
- Familiarity with IS computer system and Monitoring System.
- Familiarity with CCS specific equipment and medications.
- ALS procedures and policies.
Cognitive Requirements:
- Emotional maturity and good people skills required.
- Able to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations.
- Ability for high performance under stressful situations.
- Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and follow through.
Physical Demands:
- Able to sit, stand and walk for an 8-12 hour shift.
- Adequate hearing, vision, speech and manual dexterity.
- General health must be such as to regularly work scheduled hours.
- Able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.).
Environment:
- Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Potential for exposure to contagious diseases.
- Potential for periods of high stress.
