School Registered Nurse | Waterflow, New Mexico

A Registered Nurse (RN) is needed for a full-time contract position supporting K-12 students in Waterflow, NM. The role involves providing comprehensive school nursing services across multiple campuses with a strong emphasis on student health and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Lead Nurse overseeing Health Aides on campus
  • Provide first aid and basic healthcare for students and staff
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed
  • Support students managing chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy
  • Maintain accurate documentation including health office visits, medication logs, and immunization records
  • Assist with student health screenings and support for IEP/504 plans
  • Respond effectively to health emergencies
  • Collaborate closely with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers
  • Provide nursing support across 23 school sites, requiring travel between locations

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Experience working with children or in school settings preferred
  • Ability to pass background check and fingerprint clearance
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel between schools during the workday

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English and Navajo (Din)
  • Experience with IEPs and individualized student health care plans
  • Familiarity with school health regulations and FERPA compliance

This onsite role requires 37.5 hours per week from ASAP through May 29, 2026, providing ongoing health services to enhance student well-being in a supportive educational environment.
