A Registered Nurse (RN) is needed for a full-time contract position supporting K-12 students in Waterflow, NM. The role involves providing comprehensive school nursing services across multiple campuses with a strong emphasis on student health and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Lead Nurse overseeing Health Aides on campus
- Provide first aid and basic healthcare for students and staff
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed
- Support students managing chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy
- Maintain accurate documentation including health office visits, medication logs, and immunization records
- Assist with student health screenings and support for IEP/504 plans
- Respond effectively to health emergencies
- Collaborate closely with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers
- Provide nursing support across 23 school sites, requiring travel between locations
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CPR/AED certification
- Experience working with children or in school settings preferred
- Ability to pass background check and fingerprint clearance
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness and ability to travel between schools during the workday
Preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Navajo (Din)
- Experience with IEPs and individualized student health care plans
- Familiarity with school health regulations and FERPA compliance
This onsite role requires 37.5 hours per week from ASAP through May 29, 2026, providing ongoing health services to enhance student well-being in a supportive educational environment.
