Join the Future of Care: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – UHS Virtual Walk‑In
Are you ready to help redefine how patients experience healthcare?
UHS is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Virtual Walk‑In team, an innovative telemedicine service delivering high‑quality care directly to patients—right in their homes.
Why This Role Matters
The UHS Virtual Walk‑In empowers patients to receive timely, convenient care without the need to travel to a physical clinic. Within minutes of signing in—often in under 10 minutes—patients are connected to a trusted provider who can diagnose, treat, and send prescriptions directly to their preferred pharmacy (restrictions apply).
As part of this forward‑thinking program, you’ll care for patients presenting with a broad range of non‑emergent conditions, all while leveraging digital tools designed to make care seamless, efficient, and patient‑centered.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver high‑quality virtual care to patients in their homes via telemedicine
- Treat a variety of acute, non‑emergent illnesses
- Provide compassionate, patient‑focused care in a fast‑paced virtual setting
- Prescribe medications electronically when clinically appropriate
- Collaborate with a small, dedicated team to ensure consistent, reliable coverage
- Cross‑train across all aspects of the Virtual Health Department, gaining exposure to multiple digital care workflows
Schedule & Coverage
- Coverage for the Virtual Walk‑In service from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Rotational 7-day schedule shared with two other providers
- Designed to support continuity of care and work‑life balance
Qualifications
- Board‑certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Active licensure in both New York and Pennsylvania
- Strong clinical judgment, patient communication skills, and comfort with technology
- Interest in innovative models of care delivery and virtual health

Job Description
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant (PA) degree
- Possession of an NPI (National Provider Identification) number, as evidenced by the receipt of a copy of the notification assigning the number
- Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- Current NYS Registered Professional License
- Current (or pending) PA Registered Professional License
- Documentation of current CPR certification required within one (1) week of hire, with maintenance of current CPR certification during employment
- Certified Prescriptive Privilege in NYS
- Prescriptive Authority license in PA
Preferred:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Possession of Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD)Number
- Salary Range- $147,200 - $171,700 annually
