About our Medical Assistant Phlebotomy position
The Medical Assistant – Phlebotomy provides support to patients and co-workers by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks in different areas of the health center.
What you will be doing!
Performing back-office responsibilities as required by the health center, room patients, stock rooms, phlebotomy, injections, labs, patient education, assists NP’s, RN’s, and MD’s.
Providing non-judgmental, client-oriented care, and providing accurate information by answering questions and providing appropriate resources.
Assisting with optimizing patient flow to keep appointments on schedule.
Establishing and preparing documents for patient records and patient services.
Providing patients and co-workers excellent customer services in all interaction and tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain client confidentiality.
Value teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability, embrace change.
Must be team oriented, adaptable to changes, able to learn and implement knowledge the Planned Parenthood way, excellent attendance, and timeliness. Must be okay with providing abortion care.
Completing patient intake, preparing exam rooms, rooming patients, assisting the clinician, performing lab tests, providing injections, ordering and maintaining supplies, and variety of tasks which require demonstrating a knowledge of universal precautions, sterile techniques and hazardous waste disposal.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
National Medical Assistant Phlebotomy Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years in a healthcare setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications. Experience with electronics health records.
Salary Range:
$20.76 - $29.14 hourly
Position Type:
Full-time – Monday - Friday
This is a union role – United Food & Commercial Workers 3000
