Assesses for and notifies physician and other appropriate parties of changes in condition
Uses assessment information to develop a care plan before the end of duty time that communicates enough information for incoming personnel to adequately care for the patient
Uses care plans as a basis for providing safe and therapeutic care to patients
Consistently follows established standards, policies, and procedures in providing nursing care
Accepts accountability for clinical care of assigned patients, including supervision of nonprofessional personnel
Communicates with the patient and his or her family and other members of the health care team in carrying out the goals of the care plan
Performs competently those technical skills considered basic to the type of care given in that unit
Responds appropriately in urgent and/or emergency situations
Supports standards of nursing care through adherence to existing policies and procedures
Seeks guidance when encountering nursing procedures and responsibilities that have not been mastered

Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level. Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider. Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior venipuncture competency check-off. Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow. Assists provider with procedures to include, but not limited to maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and assists with ortho-glass application. Performs diagnostic x-rays and documents completion of radiology examinations within the licensed scope of practice as ordered and verified by the provider.
