Medical Assistant - Leavenworth Clinic

As a Medical Assistant for Swope Health Services in our Leavenworth Clinic, you will be part of a team of caregivers to provide care for the people who need it most. As a Medical Assistant, you are responsible for receiving and preparing patients for medical examinations and treatment. This includes taking vital signs, and medical and social history, assisting the provider with the examination and treatment, and entering clinical data into the electronic health record. Under the general supervision of a medical provider, you will perform general medical services such as medication administration, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You are a critical part of the patient-centered medical team to provide quality, accessible, and safe patient-centered care. Successful Candidates will have: • High School diploma or GED • Graduated from an accredited medical assistant program. o Certified by one of the following:  NRCMA  RMA  CMA  NCMA  CCMA o IF not certified by one of the above, 2 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital may be initially substituted for certification. You may be asked to become certified as a future requirement of employment. • If not graduated from an accredited medical assistant program, then 5 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital may be initially substituted for certification. You will be asked to complete courses and become certified as a future requirement of employment. • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certified, or able to be obtained within 3 months of hire • Must exhibit the ability to work with people (staff, visitors, and clients). Job Description The Medical Assistant Medical Office Specialist ensures smooth operations within the clinic with the goal of providing a positive patient experience with every customer encounter. Responsible for the overall patient flow through the clinic providing excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times. Assists providers in delivery of professional medical care including but not limited to patient registration, rooming patients vitals documentation in the EMR per clinic protocol processing refill requests collection of fees as appropriate, point of care testing, and phlebotomy. Medical Assistant Phlebotomist

Job Description Excellent Opportunity for someone with both Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist experience! Position will perform MA duties 90% of the time, and Phlebotomist duties 10% of the time. Must be willing to float between the different clinics in the Kansas City area! Must be able to commit to one 12 hour shift per week and one weekend shift per month! Position responsible for assisting providers and the nursing team in the delivery of professional medical care. Specific duties include pre-visit planning, rooming patients, obtaining vitals, utilizing the EMR system, scanning and downloading of documents, administering injections, vaccine coordination, telephone screening (with protocols), phlebotomy, assist with procedures (as needed), and duties as assigned based on respective clinic need. Incumbent in position must have excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times. May be responsible for covering front office job duties as needed.
