A certified school nurse (CSN) role is available in South Holland, IL, serving a K-12 school with a focus on high school students experiencing behavioral and emotional challenges. This full-time, contract position requires a commitment of 32.5 hours per week for the current school year (CSY), running from the start date through the end of the school year (EOSY). The nurse will work closely with para-professionals such as RBTs, CNAs, or LPNs who provide supervision and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care tailored to high school students with behavioral and emotional needs
  • Manage health plans, administer medications, and respond to medical emergencies efficiently
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote student well-being and safety
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with school health policies and licensing requirements
  • Support students behavioral health needs in coordination with para-professionals assigned for supervision

Qualifications:

  • Valid Certified School Nurse (CSN) license with PEL required for Illinois
  • Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of health issues related to behavioral and emotional disorders in youth
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel
  • Professionalism in maintaining confidentiality and adhering to school district protocols
