Collects specimens of stool, urine, and sputum and transports to lab in a timely manner.

Assists with care such as position, lifting, and transferring patients with proper body mechanisms and ambulating patients as directed by the assigned nurse.
Transports patients as needed, such as to radiology, surgery, or another nursing unit.
Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment by leaving patient rooms in order, by reporting equipment that is out of order, and by cleaning equipment as needed.
Answers telephone, call system, and greets visitors professionally, and routes information received to the appropriate personnel.

Description The Medicine Progressive Care Unit (MPCU) is seeking a Nursing Assistant I (Per Diem) to join their team. The MPCU is a 24-bed intermediate care unit on the medicine service that has moved to a newly renovated location on 3 Bedtower. This unit receives a variety of medical patients who require intermediate level care.
