Job Description

Registered Nurse providing high quality nursing care for hematology/oncology patients and family members for a patient population within the Infusion Center.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate excellent ability to perform patient assessments, and provide symptom management as well as patient and family education
  • Practice safe administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy, infusions, and injections in accordance with protocols and guidelines
  • Assess and monitor patients during and after infusion therapy
  • Act as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up
  • Triage infusion patients in collaboration with providers for symptom management, toxicity assessment and needs for referrals within the RN scope of practice
  • Assess learning needs and educates the patient and family in disease process, chemotherapy treatment plan, side effects, and side effect management.
  •  Document patient information, treatment plans, and progress in electronic medical records
  • Able to multi-task and manage a complex workload effectively to provide safe, high quality patient care
  • Participate and engage in continuous professional development, safety behaviors and focus on the patient experience
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with the patient, family and health care team members to develop and implement patient care
  • Deliver direct patient care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with Starling Physicians policy.

Qualifications:

  • Current Connecticut nursing license
  • Current OCN Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card (or within first month of hire)
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (ONC) - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation is preferred.
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills

Job Summary: The Clinical Care Manager-Massachusetts is a community based registered nurse responsible for providing monitoring, follow-up and clinical care management to dually-eligible enrollees with complex medical, behavioral and social care needs.
