The Staff Nurse – Anesthesia Acute Pain Service will assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice. They will provide leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards with regard to pain management. This position will be 100% time.

Required Qualifications
What you will need:
- An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate in Nursing, Professional Masters in Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or a master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.
- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa is required by date of hire.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking/problem solving.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to function independently.
- Current experience with interventional pain procedures under fluoroscopy and ultrasound.
- Experience with patient monitoring and care during interventional procedures including IV medication administration.
- Demonstration of active attainment of a solid knowledge base (through professional reading, inservice attendance and attainment of CEUs) in the area of Pain Management Nursing within the previous 12 months.
- 3-5 years of experience in an ambulatory care setting or inpatient setting with experience that includes pain management (including experience with pain management during painful procedures), aseptic technique and venipuncture.
- Current experience with telephone patient care management.
- Certification in Pain Management Nursing or a related nursing field.
