Chester County Hospital is hiring experienced NICU RNs for full night shift, 7:00pm-7:30am. We are the only Level III NICU in Chester County and staffed with neonatal specialists 24 hours day. We have state of the art advanced technology to support our newborns and 14 Licensed Beds with the capability to hold 20 babies.

Education Training and Experience

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.

Must have a minimum of 24 months NICU experience.

Training and specialty specific education programs are provided during orientation, and must be successfully completed as scheduled.

Licensure/Certification

Current Pennsylvania RN License.

CPR certification required.

NRP certification required, or must complete within 12 months of hire.

Are you living your life's work? Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) The Intensive Care Nursery is a 50 bed level 3 intensive care unit that specializes in the care of premature and critically ill infants. As part of the largest delivery service in Philadelphia, this busy unit cares for infants who require both long term and transitional care. The staff on this unit primarily care for infants who were born prematurely however other diagnosis include but are not limited to: hypoglycemia, sepsis, respiratory distress, neonatal abstinence syndrome and delayed neonatal transitions. Within the Intensive Care Nursery is a 9 bed level 2 transitional nursery that cares for lower acuity patients who are focused on gaining weight and improving feeding skills so that they can be safely discharged. The complexity of the patients on our unit requires a patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:4 depending on the acuity. The Intensive Care Nursery is a collaborative environment that uses the skill and expertise from a variety of disciplines to provide the highest level of care in a family centered environment. Using performance improvement and evidence based practice this team is always focused on improving patient care. In addition, the unit participates in numerous research studies aimed at elevat i ng neonatal care. The team is fortunate to have a staff committed to their patients and the hospital. Strong levels of teamwork in addition to high levels of autonomy have led to high nursing satisfaction and low turnover. Summary: The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model.
