Where You Will Work: 
 

The Critical Care Unit at Lexington Medical Center is a 16-bed unit that provides both Intensive and Intermediate Care. A dedicated charge nurse supports the unit without a patient assignment. The unit is equipped to monitor and trend heart rhythms and other hemodynamic pressures. Care of patients on ventilators, noninvasive ventilation with BiPAP or CPAP, and heated high flow oxygen delivery. Titrating medication IV drips to ordered parameters and the ability to follow protocols and order sets. Patient populations include sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, DKA, HHS, electrolyte abnormalities that require close monitoring, COPD, CHF, pulmonary edema, cardiac dysrhythmias, stroke, post-surgical unstable patients, hypertensive emergency that requires IV drips, overdose, ETOH detox, etc.

 We’re Looking For: 

  • Less than one year of RN experience

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing 

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association preferred

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
