A healthcare position is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) to support preschool-aged children in an early childhood school setting. This contract role offers part-time hours during the school year, with a specialized focus on providing skilled nursing care to students with complex medical needs.

Location:

Dekalb, Illinois (early childhood school serving preschool students)

Schedule & Duration:

Part-time, approximately 18 hours per week
Monday through Thursday, 8:20 AM 12:45 PM (no Fridays)
Contract runs through the Extended School Year (ESY)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 nursing care to a preschool student requiring specialized medical support
Assist with feeding, tracheostomy and ventilator care throughout the day
Transport student safely by walking from parking at nearby elementary school to the students home and escorting the student on the bus to the pre-K building
Collaborate with para-professionals, RBTs, CNAs, or LPNs provided by the district for supervision and support
Maintain detailed health records and communicate effectively with school staff and families regarding student health status

Qualifications:

Current Illinois RN licensure (LPNs will not be considered)
Experience working with early childhood or school-aged populations preferred
Competency in tracheostomy and ventilator care mandatory
Comfortable and reliable in managing transportation protocols for student safety
Ability to work collaboratively with educational teams and support staff
