Registered Nurse School Setting - Saint Charles, IL

A healthcare position is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) to support preschool-aged children in an early childhood school setting. This contract role offers part-time hours during the school year, with a specialized focus on providing skilled nursing care to students with complex medical needs.

Location:

  • Dekalb, Illinois (early childhood school serving preschool students)

Schedule & Duration:

  • Part-time, approximately 18 hours per week
  • Monday through Thursday, 8:20 AM 12:45 PM (no Fridays)
  • Contract runs through the Extended School Year (ESY)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 nursing care to a preschool student requiring specialized medical support
  • Assist with feeding, tracheostomy and ventilator care throughout the day
  • Transport student safely by walking from parking at nearby elementary school to the students home and escorting the student on the bus to the pre-K building
  • Collaborate with para-professionals, RBTs, CNAs, or LPNs provided by the district for supervision and support
  • Maintain detailed health records and communicate effectively with school staff and families regarding student health status

Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois RN licensure (LPNs will not be considered)
  • Experience working with early childhood or school-aged populations preferred
  • Competency in tracheostomy and ventilator care mandatory
  • Comfortable and reliable in managing transportation protocols for student safety
  • Ability to work collaboratively with educational teams and support staff
