Registered Nurse (RN) NICU

NICU Department Highlights
- 45 bed Level IV NICU caring for babies as early as 22 weeks gestation
- Family centered care with new family center
- Strong staff engagement and collaboration
- Leadership supportive of staff and growth and development through NCAP program
- Diploma in Nursing or
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required or
- BSN preferred
- Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
- 2 years of NICU experience preferred
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days required
- NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 90 days and maintained annually required
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
