We are looking for a reliable ADON (Assistant Director of Nursing) The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. It is a demanding job but also very rewarding.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – RN is responsible to assist in providing nursing management, set resident care standards for all direct care providers and provide supervision and management for the assigned nursing unit. The ADON – RN may assist with all units as requested.

Responsibilities and major duties:
1. Attend and conduct as needed staff meetings with all shifts for purposes of planning, coordinating and implementing nursing service policies and procedures.
2. Attend and participate in Resident Care Conferences as needed.
3. Assist in involvement and resolution of all resident and family concerns for facility.
4. Assist with the evaluation and supervision of all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
5. Direct and implement nursing service educational programs including, but not limited to, orientation and in-service for licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel.
6. Ensure nursing service is in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
7. Participate in the planning and implementation of the nursing service budget.
8. Assist in directing and supervising scheduling of employees within established guidelines for allocation of nursing service personnel on duty.
9. Assist in directing, organizing and scheduling required resident assessments and related documentation for Medicare, Medicaid, managed care and Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) reimbursement.
10. Assist with interviews, hiring nursing service employees, conduct counseling interviews and initiate disciplinary action as necessary.
11. Assist with written employee performance evaluations and participate in the recommendations for salary increases, promotions and terminations.
12. Ensure proper coordination resident admissions, transfers and discharge with community agencies and other facilities.
13. Attend and participate in all clinical meetings as required throughout the assigned facility(s).
14. Remain proficient in all computer software implemented throughout the clinical department.
15. Consistently work cooperatively with administration, all facility staff, ancillary personnel and consultants.
16. Demonstrate consistent management of nursing service problems, emergency situations, and initiate “life-saving” measures in the absence of a physician.
17. Observe infection control procedures.
18. Ensure the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is followed in accordance to State & Federal Guidelines.
19. Follow Resident Rights policies at all times.
20. Adhere to all facility policies & procedures and ensure they are adhered to by all responsible parties and carry out disciplinary action for non-compliance as appropriate.
21. Ensure adherence to the Corporate Integrity Program and the Performance Expectations at all times.
22. Perform other related duties as directed by the Administrator and/or person of authority.

Position Qualifications

Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 1 year of experience as a Licensed Nurse in a long-term care setting required. Previous experience leading and managing a team of clinical professionals preferred.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Successfully complete &/or comply with all required background checks to include but not limited to: Ohio BCI&I fingerprint analysis, FBI (if applicable) fingerprint analysis, Nurse Aide Registry, HHS/OIG list of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) & Ohio Medicaid Provider Exclusion and Suspension List. Valid License to practice as a LPN in the State of Ohio. CPR certification required.

Responsibility for Patient Care: Provide services based on physician orders. Communicate physician, patient and family needs with the appropriate caregivers.

Computer: Intermediate personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity and word processing.

Leadership Responsibilities: Assist with the direction and management of the clinical team within assigned facility(s).

Responsibility for confidential matters:
Works regularly with some information such as medical records or reports, financial reports, information on computer screens or other electronic devices, and records that are restricted to specific persons. Must comply with confidentiality policy.
