Texas Oncology is looking for a full-time Oncology Clinic Nurse Manager (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Kingwood, Texas location.

What does the Oncology Clinic Nurse Manager (RN) position do?
The Oncology Clinic Nurse Manager (RN) will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Director of Nursing Services and also with the Regional Executive Director, if applicable, to provide nursing support for operations to existing practice locations and newly acquired practices by consulting and advising clinicians on best-practices, implementing of/providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

 


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives
  • Collaborates with practice management to provide support on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model (OCM), and other special projects as assigned.
  • Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices
  • Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization.
  • Ensures practice standards of care are consistent with community standards of care.
  • Ensures the incorporation of clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards.
  • Staff DevelopmentAssess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting. 
  • Assists with the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current BLS certification required. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience.
  • Minimum of three (3)years of leadership experience
  • Oncology certification preferred

Supervises personnel providing direct patient care, with delegation of activities based on patient care needs and competencies of available patient care staff. Provides direct and ongoing supervision of staff about schedules, conflict resolution, and personnel policy compliance, including input for performance evaluations. Ensures implementation of operational standards which promote the maintenance of patient rights including, but not limited to: Informed consent. Clarification of patient expectations. Explanation of treatment processes. Maintenance of confidentiality of patient information. Maintenance of patient privacy by minimizing exposure during all procedures. Adaptation of care to all ages of patients served. Ethical considerations. Handling of patient complaints. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit. Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff. Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when s/he is on duty. Supports the overall departments and directors’ goals. All other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN required. Minimum 2 years’ experience in ER setting. Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience as a licensed RN. Current and active CPR certification. Charge Nurse Experience Preferred. Computer skills preferred. Why Join Legent Health?
