Pay: $40–$50/hr

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric / Mental Health RN to join our Behavioral Health team. In this role, you will support residents with psychiatric needs, collaborate with our behavioral health providers, and ensure high-quality, person-centered mental health care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor residents’ mood, behavior, cognition, and psychiatric symptoms

  • Administer psychiatric medications and treatments

  • Report changes and collaborate with psychiatrists, NPs, and counselors

  • Assist with crisis management and de-escalation

  • Support care plan development and documentation in the EHR

  • Educate staff, residents, and families on mental health and coping strategies

  • Participate in GDR meetings and interdisciplinary care conferences

  • Ensure follow-up on psychiatric consults and coordinate referrals

  • Respond to behavioral emergencies following protocol

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NY)

  • Experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing (required)

  • LTC/SNF or behavioral health experience preferred

  • Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills

  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and behavioral interventions
