University Hospital houses 23 operating rooms (ORs) covering various service lines including Thoracic, General Surgery, Hepatobiliary, Urology, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Oral, Plastics, Ear, Nose, and Throat, as well as Abdominal Transplant (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Intestine, and Multivesicular). As an integral part of the Academic Health Center, our focus lies on high-acuity patient care, particularly emphasizing cancer-related treatments. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

- Day Shift
- 40 Hours Per Week
- Monday - Friday
- 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- No Weekends
- Holiday Rotation
- On-Call Required

Description:
Licensed Practical Nurses provide service and support before, during and after surgical services. Assists in ensuring the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation in the operating room prior to each operation. Provides assistance to the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by professional and legal standards. Assists in turnover of the operating room after the procedure ensuring proper routing and/or processing of all specimens, equipment, instrumentation and supplies. Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel.
- Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
- Requires an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) LPN license.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- Successful completion of orientation required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
